RATIONALE
Landscape Architecture is a fine arts profession which relies on science and technology to design and plan the development and maintenance of outdoor areas in harmony with nature. The areas
vary in size, from a home garden to university campuses, city parks, tourism resorts and even entire towns and cities.
The scope of typical work includes landscape design of gardens, parks, town squares, zoos, cemeteries and promenades; site planning; storm water management; ecological and habitat restoration;visual assets protection; wilderness conservation; subdivision and private estate master planning; green infrastructure planning; transport corridors greening; open-mining and landfill landscaperehabilitation.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in Landscape Architecture have opportunities to work as:
a. Landscape Architects in Landscape Architectural Practices in private or Public Enterprises.
b. Landscape Architects in Architectural Practices in Private
or Public Enterprises.
c. Visual Impact Assessment Specialists.
d. Landscape Architectural Contractors.
e. Lecturers in Colleges and Universities
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have obtained at least 36
points at BGCSE (or equivalent) including a
pass (with a Grade D) in English language
and (Grade C) in Mathematics. Admission is
subject to Programme specific requirements
regarding special subjects to be passed at
BGCSE. OR
Candidates must have completed a relevant
Diploma or its equivalent. OR
Special Entry:
Candidates who do not have the minimum
academic qualifications stated above but
have a minimum of two years of relevant
work experience will be considered upon
satisfying the requirements of the Academic
Affairs Board.
(OVCs and other special interest groups are
admitted for BA ISAGO programmes with 31
points.
